Wi-Fi Config

CIIMAR is equipped with Wi-Fi Access Point through all common spaces

The Wi-Fi connection in this tutorial is seen in your devices as “CIIMAR”

Some equipments as Android devices, Linux Distro’s (Ubuntu, Mint, and others), Lab Machines, and others may not get auto configuration when you try to connect.

Here’s the configuration that you need:

Most of Android Devices

  • EAP Method (PEAP)
  • Authentication Phase2 (MSCHAPv2)
  • CA Certificate (None/Don’t validate) or (Trust at first use)
  • Identity (your CIIMAR email address)
  • Anonymous Identity (leave blank)
  • Password (CIIMAR user/email password)

Other Android devices like Google Pixel or Samsung (latest versions)

  • EAP Method (PEAP)
  • Authentication Phase2 (MSCHAPv2)
  • CA Certificate (Use System Certificate)
  • TLS Version (v1.2)
  • Online Certificate (Don't Validate)
  • Domain (ciimar.up.pt)
  • Identity (your CIIMAR email address)
  • Anonymous Identity (leave blank)
  • Password (CIIMAR user/email password)
  • Trust the Certificate Message (R1 Root Certificate - Necessary to encrypt connection)

EDUROAM Manual Config (When automatic connection doesn’t work)

  • SSID: eduroam
  • Network Encryption: WPA2 – Enterprise AES
  • Authentication type (when needed): IEEE 802.1X
  • Authentication type: EAP-TTLS
  • Protocol: PAP
  • Identity (your CIIMAR email address)
  • Anonymous Identity (leave blank)
  • Password (CIIMAR user/email password)
